I, Pierre Fournier, am deeply moved to evoke the few contacts I had in New York with Simone Fernando Sacconi at the beginning of my career of cellist soloist in the U.S.A.

I knew, long time ago, the reputation of Simone Sacconi as the great violinmaker and restorer in New York, but since we met personally, all along my numerous concert tours in the U.S. I was proud to have joined the great number of his friends who respected his high knowledge of string instruments and his profound insurpassable artistry when he had to restore the greatest violins, violas and cellos in the world.

He has been a great master with the ever increased young liutai who have been working, inspired under his direction and supervision and he has ever been more and more «the irremplacable».

I am also moved to have known his devoted wife, Mrs. Teresita Sacconi, who was bringing warmth and friendship to those world instrumentalists who were, all of them, at home, when meeting or visiting this such an unforgettable couple.
